POWERS -- Two-time defending state eight-man football champion Powers scored at will en route to a 48-0 Skyline A League rout of visiting Butte Falls Friday afternoon.

It was Powers' sixth win of the season and 28th straight overall, including victories in Oklahoma and Texas. The Cruisers have outscored opponents 267-34 this season and the 45-point rule was invoked at halftime.

Butte Falls fell to 0-4.

Robert Fields blocked a punt late in the first quarter and pounced on it in the end zone for a TD.

Butte Falls fumbled five times, losing four and Powers outgained the Loggers 287-113 in total offense.

Butte Falls had just 11 players in uniform for the game.

They played hard the whole time and never quit, Powers coach Tim France said of the Loggers. I'm definitely pleased with the win. But we need to pick up the intensity at the start of the game.
