Duck Club to meet today at North's

The Southern Oregon Duck Club meets today at noon at J.J. North's restaurant in Medford.

The meeting will feature a review of last Saturday's 41-38 overtime loss to second-ranked UCLA game and a conversation with Oregon coach Mike Bellotti.

Oregon dropped from 11th to 12th in this week's AP Top 25 football poll.

Women's rec hoop league in the works

The Medford Parks and Recreation Department will hold an organizational meeting at 7 p.m. on Nov. 5 for a women's recreational basketball league.

The meeting will be in Room 340 of the Medford City Hall.

Current plans are to start the league in January, with games offered on Sunday afternoons or evenings at South Medford High School.

The number of games and league costs will be determined by the number of teams interested.

Benefit 4-man scramble Nov. 28 at StoneRidge

A golf tournament to benefit the Phoenix High baseball program will be held on Nov. 28 at StoneRidge Golf Course.

The four-man scramble event will start at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Cost is $40 per person.
