Endrikat duo earn top seed
PORTLAND -- Chris and Jon Endrikat secured the top seed in doubles for the boys state tennis tournament after finishing first in the Jesuit Invitational on Saturday.
North Medford finished the eight-team invitational in third place, three points shy of second-place Lincoln. Jesuit finished first in the team standings.
Our result was very good in that only a few points separated us from second, North Medford coach Cary Collins said. We were ranked in the Oregonian to finish second, behind Jesuit and realistically we were right there.
North's Scott Schnugg, who placed third in No. — singles, solidified the third seed at state by upsetting Jason Menke, who placed second in last year's state tournament.
In No. 4 singles, Andrew Theen also finished in third place for North.
In doubles action, Brock Jonasson and Jeremy Leever, Josh Rapp and Dru Phillips and Richard Louie and Jed Hwang all had third-place showings in their respected divisons.
