Pirates explode for 22-11 win

GRANTS PASS -- Drew Pearson was 3-for-3 with a home run and Theron Hull was 4-for-5 as Phoenix rolled to a 22-11 win over Hidden Valley on Tuesday in Skyline Conference baseball at the All-Sports Park.

The Pirates raised their season record to 14-5.

Pearson had two singles and a home run and drove in four runs. Hull had two singles, a double and a bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning.

It was nice to see all the hits, said Phoenix coach Joe Hagler. I knew we were going to have to score a lot of runs to win this game.

They (the Mustangs) have a lot of good kids who can hit, too.

Seth Pietsch led Hidden Valley with four hits in five at-bats.
