Frosh Coe on All-Pac-10 softball unit
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- North Medford High graduate Missy Coe was one of two University of Oregon softball players who were named first-team All-Pac-10 Conference on Friday.
Coe, a freshman, leads the Ducks with a .368 batting average and has produced 10 home runs, 17 doubles and 34 RBIs. Her 17 doubles broke the school record and her 74 hits ties the school mark.
The other Oregon player selected to the first team was senior Katie Mackey, who is hitting .316 with a school-record 13 home runs and 44 RBIs. Mackey is from Red Bluff, Calif.
UCLA catcher Stacey Nuveman and pitcher Courtney Dale were named Pac-10 player and pitcher of the year, respectively, while Stanford freshman outfielder Jessica Mendoza was named Pac-10 newcomer of the year.
UCLA's Sue Enquist and Oregon State's Kirk Walker were chosen Pac-10 co-coaches of the year.
