AquaSox humble TJs, 4-0
EVERETT, Wash. -- Southern Oregon dropped its second straight game to the Everett AquaSox, and in turn fell to 7-3 in the Northwest League standings.
The Timberjacks failed to get their bats going Sunday, striking out a season-high 15 times in the second game of a five-game road series. Everett (3-6) limited Southern Oregon to three hits in posting a 4-0 victory.
Everett jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run double by Mike Abate.
The AquaSox added their third run of the game in the fourth on Jerry Amador's fielder's choice. The grounder allowing Kevin Robles, who singled earlier, to cross the plate.
Everett added their final run in the sixth as Mark Carrol knocked in Gorky Estrella on a single up the middle.
Southern Oregon wasted strong efforts by pitchers Scott Chiasson and Jason Pomar, who combined to allow Everett only six hits.
The two teams play again tonight at 7 p.m.
