shooting camp set July 5-9 in Medford
A basketball shooting camp will be held July 5-9 at Orchard Hill Elementary School in Medford.
The camp, conducted by local shooting guru David Flood, costs $50 and runs from 9-11 a.m. each day.
An optional games camp will be held from 11 a.m. to noon each day and costs an extra $25.
The camp is geared for boys and girls in grades three through high school.
The clinic teaches youngsters the proper fundamentals of shooting, including hand and foot placement, elbow alignment, proper backspin and follow-through.
Flood has run shooting camps in Southern Oregon for the past eight years, and many of his former pupils are current standouts on local high school teams.
Flood's father, the late Des Flood, ran shooting camps in California and Oregon and served as a shooting instructor for the 1996 United States women's Olympic team.
Participants may sign up for the camp July 5 from 8-9 a.m.
For more information, call Flood at 840-2597.
