Rogue River out of tourney

KALAMAZOO, Mich

. -- Rogue River's run in the Senior Little League Girls World Series came to an end Thursday with a 10-7 loss to Central from Ohio.

Rogue River finished 1-3 and tied for fifth place in the eight-team national tournament.

Rogue River got off to a fast start with five runs in the first inning, sparked by Christina Shamblin's two-run single.

But Central answered with seven runs in the bottom of the first.

Rogue River picked up single runs in the third and fourth innings to knot the score at 7-all.

Allison Bailey led the Rogue River offense, while shortstop Kristi Fredrick excelled on defense.
