McCoy earns second win

WHITE CITY

-- Rookie Rich McCoy, currently 4th in the points standings, pulled down his second winged modified win Saturday at the Southern Oregon Speedway.

McCoy held down third place for the first 13 laps behind veteran racer Dane Smith before Smith went crashing into the wall. McCoy briefly took over second before being overtaken by Rob Gavin after one lap.

Gavin was later penalized with a roll-up black flag warning and sent to the back of the pack after spinning out Mark Wauge.

Dan Wells finished in second while Dave Duste Sr. captured third. Points leader Dan Estremado finished fourth.

In the pro stocks A main race, Brian Poppa picked up his sixth win of the year. Brad Alfrey finished second and Dan Thomas brought home third.

In the pro stocks B main, Chris Charlton led all 15 laps and picked up his first win of the year. Ken Heywood finished second and Billy Redmon wound up with a third place finish.

Jim Hill battled Patrick Lanigan in the mini stocks A main race before taking home first. Lanigan ended up second and Eric Bray took in third place.

Clarence Cole got his first win in the mini stocks B main and Chris Zeulner finished second. Rookie points leader Wayne Kniffen rounded out the top three.

In the super trucks series, John Wayne Cahill took the checkered flag for the sixth time this season while Lindsey Bryant finished second and Terry Townsend third.
