TJs on all-star unit

Greg Sparks of Southern Oregon and Spokane's Kevin Long were named co-managers of the year in Northwest League all-star voting.

Three Southern Oregon players were named to the all-star team: outfielder Kirk Asche, catcher Gerald Laird and left-handed reliever Bryan Mazur.

Robb Quinlan of Boise was the most valuable player.

Other infielders were Sean McGowan of Salem-Keizer, second baseman Alfredo Amezaga of Boise, third baseman G.J. Raymundo of Spokane and shortstop Mark Ellis of Spokane. The outfielders were Chris Snelling of Everett and Michael O'Keefe of Boise. Starting pitchers honored were left-hander Craig Anderson of Everett and right-hander Cam Esslinger of Portland. Tony Cogan of Spokane joined Mazur as a left-handed reliever, and Jay Gehrke of Spokane was the right-handed selection.
