Brophy-led St. Mary's tops Knights


Lani Brophy stepped up with a career-high 27 assists to lead St. Mary's to a 6-15, 15-10, 15-11 non-conference volleyball home win over North Valley Monday night.

The Crusaders (14-2), ranked sixth in the state, took one game to adjust to the loss of middle hitter Kristen Zielony, who missed the contest with a sprained wrist, before rallying to dominate the next two.

Maren Zielony provided a huge game overall for St. Mary's with 19 digs and 13 kills.

Freshman Melissa Anderson chipped in with eight digs from the back row, while Megan Dode delivered 10 kills to go along with seven digs of her own.

The Crusdaders are host to No. — Gold Beach at 5:30 tonight.

HENLEY 2, CASCADE CHRISTIAN 0-- At Jacksonville, Peter Isaacson and Josh Ketchum provided the offense for Henley in the District 6 win at Hawthorne Field.

Ketchum put the Hornets on the board in the 60th minute and Isaacson atoned for a missed penalty shot in the first half with an unassisted goal in the 72nd minute.

With the win, Henley improved its conference record to 1-0-1. Cascade Christian dropped to 1-1.
