. Duck Club to meet on Thursday

The Southern Oregon Duck Club will meet at noon Thursday at Kim's Restaurant in Medford.

Oregon football coach Mike Bellotti, who has guided the Ducks to the Sun Bowl, will address the group via speakerphone. Also, end, end-of-the-year highlights will be shown, including those from Oregon's 23-14 victory over Oregon State.

Oregon faces Minnesota in the Dec. 31 bowl game in El Paso, Texas.

Oregon will hold mat clinic Saturday

The Southern Oregon University Wrestling Clinic will be held Saturday at McNeal Pavilion.

The clinic is open to wrestlers ages 6-18. It will be held from — p.m. to 4 p.m.

The cost is $5 per wrestler with a can of food, which will be donated to Access Food Share as part of the clinic's proceeds. Cost without a can of food is $6 per wrestler.

All camp wrestlers will gain free admission to Southern Oregon's dual match against Oregon State that night.

The SOU wrestling staff, directed by head coach Mike Ritchey, will run the camp.

clinic slated Saturday at the RRRink

Boys and girls ages 4-16 are invited to an introductory ice hockey clinic at The RRRink, 1349 Center Dr., at 2:15 Saturday.

The clinic is limited to the first 25 registrants, and the cost is two non-perishable foot items to benefit ACCESS food share.

Skates, helmet and stick will be provided and participants should bring gloves or mittens and warm clothes.

basketball clinic slated Sunday at SOU

ASHLAND-- A free youth basketball coach's clinic is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at McNeal Pavilion on the Southern Oregon University campus.

SOU men's coach Brian McDermott will be the instructor of How to Teach the Game. For information, call Brad Roupp at 482-7515.

U.S. coach to hold polo clinic

GRANTS PASS-- A water polo clinic featuring a former U.S. Olympic coach is scheduled Saturday at the Grants Pass YMCA adjacent to the Josephine County Fairgrounds on Redwood Ave.

Dave Almquist, the 1988 U.S. Olympic men's coach, will conduct a 6 1/2-hour clinic -- from — to 7:30 p.m. -- for water polo players and swimmers throughout Southern Oregon.

The cost is $20, with $15 going to the United State Water Polo Club for insurance. Snacks and door prizes are included. Swim and water polo coaches are offered free admittance.
