Balanced Grizzlies put it all together in rout of E.P.

ASHLAND

-- The Ashland High girls basketball team used a well-rounded attack to post a convincing 68-42 Southern Oregon Conference victory over Eagle Point Friday night.

For the fourth straight contest, the eighth-ranked Grizzlies (2-0, 4-1) put at least three players in double figures, while the Eagles fell to 0-2 in SOC play.

I thought we played 32 pretty good minutes tonight, said Ashland coach Heather Roberts. It was a definite improvement for us. We were a lot more intense.

Hanna Seltzer paced the Grizzlies with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Jackie Woods added 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Kirsten McNaught had 12 points.

Roberts said her team could have easily overlooked the Eagles in the past, but a change in overall team thinking has changed that.

I just tell them it doesn't matter who we're playing, said Roberts. We set game goals and try to reach them no matter who our opponent is.

Dusty Damon led the Eagles with 12 points, while Stephanie Lucas added 10.
