registration ongoing for youth play
Registration for the Rogue Valley Youth Hockey Association Stars In-House League for 6- to 11-year-olds is under way at the RRRink.
Practices are from 6-7 p.m. Monday and Thursday; games are played Saturday. The season runs until March 9.
The fee is $150 plus $40 for USA/OSHA Hockey annual registration.
Players may join any time with prorated fees.

do well in Portland competition
PORTLAND-- Two Level 10 performers from Flip City Gymnastics' Mega team had outstanding efforts in Saturday's Judges' Evaluation gymnastics meet at Multnomah Athletic Club.
Jessica Touzet, 14, placed first in balance beam, floor exercise, uneven parallel bars, vault and all-around competition. She was first in the vault, second in the floor exercise, third in the uneven parallel bars and fourth on the balance beam. Megan Jones, 16, placed third in the all-around.
Johnnie Schmelzer, 15, also at Level 10, placed fifth in the vault and fifth all-around.
In Level 9, Lindsey Warren, 13, was second in the floor exercise and third in the uneven parallel bars, balance beam and all-around.
At Level 8, Heidi Guches, 11, was second in all-around, first in uneven parallel bars, second in the floor exercise, third in the vault and fourth in the balance beam.
At Level 7, Cristy Bradshaw was ninth in the uneven parallel bars and Stephanie Hodge, 10, was 10th in the floor exercise.
American LL meeting set for Jan. 18
The Medford American Little League directors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at the North Medford High School cafeteria.
The group is looking for volunteers to help with registration in February and planning for the 2000 season.

wrestling to get start in Phoenix
PHOENIX-- Students 6 to 12 years old living in the Phoenix-Talent School District are invited to partake in Phoenix PeeWee Wrestling.
Five Saturday sessions begin this weekend with a tournament scheduled Feb. 19.

The Rogue Valley Family YMCA is conducting registration for a seventh- through ninth-grade girls basketball league that will run Feb. 19 through March 18.
Twice-a-week practices begin Feb. 2.
Players will be grouped by what school they attend.

ASHLAND-- Jim Douglas recorded a hole-in-one on the 13th hole at Oak Knoll Golf Course Sunday.
Douglas, from Medford, used an 8-iron. His playing partners were Dave Wittkopf and Jason Wittkopf.
Robbins, Braham claim first at Eagle Point GC
Rob Robbins and Howard Braham won the Senior Challenge at Eagle Point Golf Course Monday.
Second place went to Walt Clark, Owen Thomas, Roger Cooley and Otis Applegate.
The format was one gross score and one net score.
