North Medford outlasts Cavemen on tennis court

In a Southern Oregon Conference boys tennis dual punctuated by four, three-set matches, North Medford came way with a 7-2 Southern Oregon Conference victory over Grants Pass Tuesday at District Courts.

The top three double matches all went to three sets, with the Black Tornado triumphing in two.

North's top doubles team of Brock Jonasson and Jeremy Leever bounced back from a loss to Roseburg on Thursday by posting a 6-0, 4-6 and 6-3 victory over Paul Dickerson and Levi Brown.

It was the other team's first doubles match together, North Medford coach Ray Odor said. They had to get used to each other in the first set.

The Black Tornado No. 2 team of Richard Louie and Dru Phillips improved to 3-0 with a tiebreaker victory against Tom Cohen and Jameson Zottola.

It could have gone either way, Odor said. We showed some strength at the end when we were down 5-6 in the third set to get to a tiebreaker.

North's Jon Endrikat remained undefeated on the season at 3-0 with a straight set love victory in the No. — singles.
