North comes from behind once again
For the third time in as many games, the North Medford High baseball team triumphed in its final at-bat.
Charlie Jensen lined a bases-loaded single down the left-field line in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Black Tornado squeezed out a 3-2 non-conference victory over Douglas at Miles Field.
With the score tied 2-2 in the seventh, Nate Mayben led off with a single. Ken Halpin and Colby Gonzales followed with walks to load the bases, setting the stage for Jensen.
Mayben picked up the win on the mound -- his fifth against one loss -- by pitching the seventh.
North Medford, now 9-2, meets archrival South Medford Saturday in a noon doubleheader at Miles Field.
