Hoops registration set for Ashland girls camp
ASHLAND-- Registration is under way for the June 15-17 Ashland Girls Basketball Fundamentals Camp for girls entering the fourth through eighth grades.
Sessions for grades 4-6 run from 9-11:30 a.m., followed by grades 7-9 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The cost is $40 and the deadline for registration is May 15.

Generations event set Sunday at Eagle Point
The Generations Golf Tournament is slated Sunday at 9 a.m. at Eagle Point Golf Course.
Each two-person team must have at least a 20-year age difference in players. The tourney will be a Stableford best-ball format.
Entry fee is $55 per person or $45 for Eagle card holders.
Men will be playing the grey tees, while women and juniors 15-and-under will be playing the green tees.
Table Rock Soccer Club seeks league coaches
GOLD HILL-- Table Rock Soccer Club is accepting applications from persons desiring to coach a competitive team in the Southern Oregon Classic League.
The season runs Sept. 9 through Nov. 4.
Positions available are for U-12 and U-14 boys and girls teams. The deadline is May 9.

Dorman garners nod as pitcher of the week
Western Baptist pitcher Rich Dorman was recently named the Cascade Conference's pitcher of the week.
Against then-No. 2 ranked Albertson College last Friday, the former North Medford High player tossed a five-hitter and struck out four as the Warriors upset the Coyotes, 2-1.
Dorman (6-5) is among the conference leaders in strikeouts with 57 and has a 5.42 ERA.
Veterans team fares well at bowling tourney
-- A Veterans of Foreign Wars team from the Rogue Valley fared well in a state bowling tournament at Lava Lanes the final two weekends of March.
A total of 35 teams competed using handicap scoring.
In singles play, Gary Rosenberger was first (628 scratch, 736 total); John King (687, 732) second; Bill Cordell (641, 701) fifth; Richard Templeton (675, 699) sixth; and Don Pratt (588, 669) 10th.
In doubles competition, Gary Gidney and King placed first (1,240 scratch, 1,345 total); Clarence Freeman and Rosenberger were fourth (1,053, 1,311); Pratt and Floyd Kenaston (1,184, 1,318) fifth; and Robert Keaton and Walter Fogle were 11th (1,161, 1,284).
In all events, Templeton (1,983 scratch, 2,055 total) took second; Rosenberger (1,707, 2,031) fifth; Cordell (1,835, 2,015) seventh; Pratt (1,767, 2,010) eighth; and Kenaston (1,866, 2,001) ninth.
In mixed doubles, Verlene Kenaston and Pratt (1,189, 1,378) claimed first; Ed Herzog and Dottie Villa (1,024, 1,318) fifth; and Verlene and Floyd Kenaston (1,140, 1,293) ninth.
Floyd Kenaston averaged 204 pins in 12 games.
Medford women win trios bowling tourney
Gloria Harper, Ila Bethany and Anita Graves teamed to win first place in the Medford 600 Trios Tournament recently at Medford Lanes.
Harper posted a 223 game and Bethany scored games of 213 and 211 to help the team win with a score of 3,135.
Gladys Daugherty, Sue Glover and Doris Grosch finished second at 3,107 and the team of Jackie Rossi, Lora Vaccher and Pam Weeks finished third at 3,038.

Stupfel cards an ace at StoneRidge event
Leon Stupfel carded a hole-in-one Wednesday during StoneRidge Senior Tour play at StoneRidge Golf Club.
Stupfel used a 7-iron to ace the par-3, 144-yard 12th hole during tournament play.
