Tredway debuts with Massachusetts triumph

UXBRIDGE, Mass. — Former Ashland High and University of Oregon standout golfer Andrew Tredway won the Southern Massachusetts Open Tuesday with a combined two-day total of 4-under-par 140.

The three-stroke victory paid off $3,000 for Tredway in his first summer as a professional.

It was Tredway's third victory during August on the North Atlantic Tour based in Boston with events contested in a five-state area of New England.

The win moved Tredway into fourth place on the tour money list after he delayed his pro start in order to graduate from the University of Oregon in June. The leading money winner at the end of September will receive expenses to the fall PGA Tour qualifying school.

Tredway will play with former U of O teammate Adrian Burtner on Thursday and Friday in a New Hampshire team championship featuring an alternate scoring format for each nine holes of the tournament.
