slates meeting Tuesday at local school
The Rogue Valley Soccer Club will hold its annual general meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School cafeteria in Medford.
The agenda includes a review of plans and programs, open discussion and election of officers. The meeting is open to all interested persons.
The Rogue Valley Soccer Club marks its 25th anniversary this year. The club serves youth soccer players in kindergarten through high school, fielding both recreation and competitive teams.
earns spot in tourney of champions
Holly Gibson of Central Point qualified for a spot in the season-ending Tournament of Champions with a second-place finish in the Oregon Junior Classic doubles tournament Dec. 19 at Crosley Lanes in Vancouver, Wash.
Gibson, 14, and her partner Corey Hall of Beaverton took second in the AA Division. Gibson and Hall made the cut in sixth place.
In match play, Gibson posted scores of 210, 176, 183, 210, 180 and 235.
Snowmobilers schedule Sunday run
The Rogue Snowmobilers have scheduled a Crab Feed Run, starting noon Sunday at 1000 Springs Sno-Park, Milepost 63 on Hwy. 62, three miles north of Union Creek.

The club will host the Oregon State Snowmobile Association 2000 Convention, Jan. 21-23 at the Medford Red Lion.

Games begin Jan. 15 and run through March 3. The cost is $20 for YMCA members and $40 for non-members.

Rock Soccer Club slates February tryouts
The Table Rock Soccer Club will be holding tryouts for the Spring 2000 Southern Oregon Classic League at the Hanby Football Field in Gold Hill.
Tryout times for girls 18-under are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5, from 10-11:30 a.m. while 14-under girls times will be from 12:30-2 p.m.
Boys 18-under will tryout on Sunday, Feb. 6, from 10-11:30 a.m. with 16-under set from Noon-1:30 p.m. All 14-under tryouts are scheduled from 2-3:30 p.m.

set local finals for free throw contest
The local finals of the Elks National Free Throw Contest will be held at the North Medford High gym on Saturday, Jan. 29, for the girls and Saturday, Feb. 5, for the boys.
Starting time for both shoot-off's is 1:15 p.m. with the winners advancing to the Southwest District Shoot-off held in Roseburg at Fremont Junior High on Saturday, Feb. 12.
Local area boys and girls from Medford, Central Point, Gold Hill, Eagle Point, Shady Cove, White City, Prospect, Butte Falls and Youth League players will be competing.

, Rutledge post stellar bowling efforts
Justin Warren and Euel Rutledge each had shining moments Wednesday at Medford Lanes.
Rutledge, of Central Point, rolled a 300 game in the Commercial League, while Warren notched a 563 scratch series in the Pin Busters League.
Rutledge bowled a 174 and a 182 in his first two games before scoring the first 300 of the new year in the Rogue Valley Bowling Association for a 656 series. He holds a 211 average.
Warren bowled a 233, 167 and 163 for his 563 scratch series. The 10-year-old junior bowler holds a 132 average.
