Bulldog Boxing Club to host Fall Classic event
Medford's Bulldog Boxing Club will host the Fall Classic Saturday in the Olsrud Arena at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with bouts beginning at 7. Admission is $10 and children under 8 will be admitted free.
Other teams from Oregon, Washington, Nevada and California are scheduled to compete in the amateur event.
Among the Bulldog boxers expected to participate are 20-year-old Lionel Leon, a USA Boxing and Golden Gloves regional champion; 17-year-old Homero Gonzalez, a USA Boxing regional champion and Western Olympic Trials semifinalist; and 14-year-old Troy Wohosky, a two-time Silver Gloves national finalist.

McShane rolls 300 game in Lava's Rogue League
White City's Leland McShane bowled his first ever 300 game in the Rogue League at Lava Lanes on Monday.
McShane added games of 189 and 232 for a 721 series. He holds a 212 average.
Signups being taken for venerable Pioneer run
The Pioneer Road Run, founded in 1971, will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, starting and finishing at Phoenix High.
The run, which is the oldest road run in Southern Oregon, starts at 9 a.m. and offers 9-mile and 5-kilometer course.
Registration is $14 with a long-sleeved shirt for those who sign up by Nov. — or $5 without a shirt. Cost is $7 for registration after Nov. — without a shirt.

Registration deadline nears for hoop leagues
Registration for the City League winter basketball ends Friday.
Both weekday evening and Sunday afternoon/evening leagues are available for teams ranging from recreational to competitive ability levels.
Team registration continues at the Medford Parks and Recreation Office in the Lausmann Annex, Room 140.
Games start the first week of December or the first week of January. League costs start at $295 per team, with fees covering only the direct cost of officials, scorekeepers and awards.

Little League meeting for Central Point on tap
A Central Point Little League meeting will be held at Mae Richardson Elementary School on Monday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m.
Anyone interested in serving on the Little League board should attend the meeting.

Girls youth basketball tourney slated Nov. 11
Entry deadline is Monday for a Superior Gym and Fitness girls sixth- through eighth-grade basketball tournament Nov. 11.
The tournament will be a round-robin format, with four teams in each grade division. Each team is guaranteed three games. The gym is at 886 Chevy Way. Entry fee is $100.
