Bulldog Boxing to host Regional Tournament

The Medford Bulldog Boxing Club will host the 2001 Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament on Saturday at Eagle Point High.

The event begins at 7 p.m. and features several top Bulldog fighters.

Cost is $200 for a ringside table that includes 10 seats with meals. Fee for adults is $10, $5 for students with student body cards and children 8-under are free.

Girl Scout Olympics set Saturday at North

The Southern Oregon Heat players and staff have volunteered to participate in the Girl Scouts of Winema Olympics event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at North Medford High on Saturday.

The players and coaches will be available for autograph signings and will also have free tickets to hand out for the May 24th home game against the Utah Express.

Every Girl Scout is invited to participate in the events that include track and field activities, Frisbee toss, football kick, softball throw, an obstacle course and various other running events.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the Grand Parade of participants begins at 9 a.m.

Shooting clinic slated for July in Jacksonville

Local basketball shooting guru David Flood will conduct a shooting clinic July 9-13 at Cascade Christian High School in Jacksonville.

The camp, designed for boys and girls in grades 1-12, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon each day in the Cascade Christian High gym. A separate games camp will follow from noon to — p.m.

Cost is $60 for the regular clinic and $30 for the games camp, or $50 and $25 for those who pre-register.

Flood is a renowned shooting coach who has put on clinics in the Rogue Valley for the past 16 years. Past students have developed into excellent shooters on local youth and high school teams.

Flood teaches proper hand and elbow alignment, foot position, backspin and follow-through, among other tips.

Flood's father, the late Des Flood, put on shooting clinics for many years in Southern California and later in the Rogue Valley with his son.
