Gould to be honored Monday at Miles Field

Friends and acquaintances of longtime Medford sports booster and statistician B.G. Gould are invited to his 50th birthday party Monday at Miles Field.

The big celebration kicks off at 6 p.m. with pizza and drinks.

Jerry Allen, the radio voice of the Oregon Ducks who did the play-by-play for the Medford Black Tornado in the 1960s and '70s, is scheduled to be the opening speaker.

Other speakers include former Linfield football coach Ad Rutschman, South Medford basketball coach Larry Doty and South Medford High Athletic Director Dennis Murphy.

Former Stanford University and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Tony Hill may also be on hand.

Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under. The admission pays for pizza, salad, a soft drink and cake.

Contributions will be welcomed at the gate for a birthday gift for Gould. Those who would like to contribute to Gould's gift but can't make the make the party can make checks out to B.G. Gift Fund and mail to Ed Singler, 35 Berkeley Way, Medford, 97504.
