Linfield downs SOU in tennis

McMINNVILLE — Southern Oregonhad difficulty adjusting to the fast rubberized playing surface on the indoorcourts at Linfield and were handed a 7-3 defeat by the undefeated WildcatsFriday.

Linfield improved to 6-0 on theseason, while the Raiders fell to 6-3.

Southern Oregon junior BridgetWagner recorded one of the Raiders two singles victories with a 6-4 and 6-1 winover Nicole Ralston in No. — position.

Lindsey Chrisman picked up theRaiders other singles win, while Heather Virell and Jennifer Marks won in No. 4doubles.

I was disappointed,said Southern Oregon coach Gail Patten. We could have showed better as ateam. We were very sluggish on the courts.

The Raiders continue their roadtrip with a match today in Portland against Pacific and Sunday at Lewis &Clark.
