Basketball

SOU INdivIDUAL LESSONS - Offered in one-hour sessions by SOU men's coach Brian McDermott and his staff for boys and girls in grades 6-12. May through November, with times to be arranged. GRIZZLY CAMP - For boys and girls, ages 8-11 at Ashland High. June 17-20. Runs from 8 a.m.-noon for ages 8-11 and noon-4 p.m. for ages 12-14. Cost is $50 for individual or $75 for two or more from the same family. Call 482-2377.

SOUTHERN OREGON SLAM -3-on-3 basketball tournament, formerly known as the Shakespearean Slam. May 25-26 at the Rogue Valley Mall in Medford. Registration deadline: May 17. FUTURE COMETS GIRLS SUMMER CAMP - June 17-19. Session one, for 3rd- to 6th-graders, from 9 a.m.-noon. YFC LITHIA MOTORS CHALLENGE - May 18, at StoneRidge Golf Club. Tee times are 7 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tournament, benefiting Rogue Valley Youth for Christ/Campus Life, is four-person scramble. NATIONAL LEARN TO ROW DAY - Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m., Emigrant Lake. For all ages who want to learn to row as a team in a racing shell. The Ashland Rowing Club will give instruction between 10 and noon, and both instruction and equipment are free. Meet at the entrance to Emigrant Lake, on Highway 66, five miles east of I-5.
