Pirates turn to defense in rout of South UmpquaPHOENIX ' Three Phoenix girls basketball players scored in double figures as the Pirates used a tenacious pressing defense to roll past South Umpqua, 67-19, in a non-conference matchup on Thursday.Jaclyn Unruh, Ashley McCarty and Kat Cox each had 10 points, and the Pirates caused 24 turnovers in the first half en route to a 34-9 lead at the break.South Umpqua finished with 42 giveaways total.That's just (South Umpqua) being young and not experienced, said Phoenix coach Kyle Walker.
