Bittle dominates as Crater shuts down Eagle Point, 3-2

CENTRAL POINT ' Bettering her record to 6-1 on the season, junior pitcher Jenni Bittle shut down Eagle Point to lead Crater to a 3-2 non-conference softball home victory Wednesday.

An honorable mention all-Southern Oregon Conference last year, Bittle permitted just two hits while striking out 10 Eagles in a complete-game effort.

Senior catcher Kelle Thomas was the Comets' offensive spark, providing two hits and two RBIs.

Senior third baseman Angie Wright doubled home Janelle Cristofaro in the first inning to pull Crater (10-3) even at 1-all. In the second, Crystal Huntley smacked a leadoff double and scored on Thomas' single.

— Thomas provided the eventual game-winner in the fourth with an RBI single to score Huntley.

Sophomore Kelsey Heider and senior Jamie Williams combined to limit the Comets to four hits, but their pitching alone couldn't propel Eagle Point (3-8).
