Kinney's four touchdowns power Cascade

WHITE CITY ' A tough loss to Lost River last Friday put the Cascade Christian football team in a must-win situation.

Already sitting at 0-2 in Southern Cascade League play, the Challengers righted the ship Friday with a 39-27 win over Riddle at the V.A. Domiciliary.

Senior wing back Ben Kinney scored four touchdowns and finished with 95 yards rushing as Cascade Christian (2-2, 1-2 SCL) used a strong second half to pull away.

We didn't play too great in the first half, said Kinney. We had a talk at halftime and went out and executed in the second half.

— Kinney scored on runs of — and 4 in the first half to help the Challengers to a narrow 20-14 advantage.

Riddle kept it close in the first half, converting on a fourth-and-goal pass play for a score and providing the final points of the half on a TD run by Roland Chambers with just under two minutes.

Kinney burst through the line for 49 yards on the second play of the second half to cushion the Challengers' lead and ignite a 19-7 scoring run.

The line worked really hard tonight, said Kinney, who also fought off three would-be-tacklers for a 5-yard score in the fourth quarter. We had a really good week of practice coming into tonight.

Junior quarterback Tyler Boice scored on a 26-yard run in the first quarter and senior fullback Nick Gomez added an 8-yard TD in the third quarter.

Chambers finished with 175 yards on the ground as Riddle fell to 0-3 in the SCL and 1-4 overall.
