Grieve lifts Eagles to win over Springfield

ALBANY ' Derek Grieve scored 19 points and had eight rebounds and five assists to lead Eagle Point to a 60-45 win over Springfield at the Albany Tournament on Thursday.

The Eagles (5-6) used a 19-11 spurt in the fourth quarter to pull away from a close game.

Zach Krzyzanski added 16 points and Mychal Williams chipped in 13 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Eagles.

ASHLAND 73, YUBA CITY 72 ' At Redding, Calif., Ashland survived in overtime to beat Yuba City in a consolation bracket game at the Hornet Classic.

Yuba City's Mike Chahai hit a game-tying shot at the end of regulation play to force the overtime.

In the extra session, the game was tied at 72-all when Colin Constantino sank a free throw with 1.8 seconds remaining to give the Grizzlies the victory.

Josh Cornelius scored six of his game-high 23 points in overtime to lead Ashland. Sam Littleton added 21. Both players went — of 5 from the 3-point line.

NEWPORT 57, PHOENIX 46 ' At Wilsonville, Phoenix dropped a fourth-quarter lead to lose its last game of the Wilsonville tournament against Newport.

After scoring just two points in the first quarter the Pirates outscored the Cubs 38-26 in the second and third quarters and gained the lead going into the fourth.

Senior post Ben Decuir led the Pirates (7-5) with 18 points and six rebounds.
