Raiders unveil FB schedule

Wire reports

Southern Oregon University football coach Steve today unveiled what looks like a challenging 2006 Raider season schedule.

The nine-game slate kicks off at 6 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 2 at Raider Stadium against NAIA rival Eastern Oregon University, and the schedule contains five contests against NCAA Division II regional opponents and two against 2005 national playoff teams (Linfield College and Azusa Pacific).

SOU hosts archrival Western Oregon University Sept. 23 to begin a home-and-home arrangement with the Wolves, and the Raiders invade McArthur Stadium in Monmouth four weeks later on Oct. 21.

Azusa Pacific, which unseated the Raiders and started a three-year run as NAIA Independents champion in 2003, is SOU&

s 69th-annual Homecoming opponent on Oct. 7, a 6 p.m. start.

After a Nov. 4 Senior Day tilt with Humboldt State University, the regular-season wraps up the following Saturday in St. George, Utah with a first-ever encounter with Dixie State College, a first-year Division II program.

said , who is in his first season as Raider head coach. &
