Allred tied for fourth after 69

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. ' Jason Allred moved into a tie for fourth place with a 2-under-par 69 in the second round of the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs.
Chris Stroud is the leader heading into today's third round with a 9-under 134.
With the Round 2 performance, Allred is 6 under overall with a 137 and is tied with four other competitors.
The Ashland native had three birdies and one bogey Friday.
Stroud shot a 69 to take the lead. He shared the lead with two other golfers after the first round.
— I came into this week with low expectations, Stroud said. I just want to play solid golf and play my way on this tour. I'm very happy with my play so far this week.
It's just the third start on the Nationwide Tour for Stroud, who graduated from Lamar in 2004. He missed the cut in his first try and finished tied for 19th last week at the Athens Regional Foundation Classic, which qualified him for this week's tournament.
Stroud's round at the Cliffs Valley course began with a bogey on No. 2 but he rebounded with birdies on Nos. 6, 10, 13 and 14 to finish the day at the top of the standings. He moves on to play Walnut Cove on Saturday.
Stroud is one stroke ahead of Scott Weatherly, who hit 14 of 18 greens in regulation and needed just 26 putts at the Cliffs Valley course.
Doug LaBelle II is two shots back and four others are tied with Allred at three shots off the pace.
First round co-leader Tripp Isenhour shot — over Friday to finish at — under, while Thursday's other leader, Bryce Molder, shot 4 over to end Friday at 2 under.
The tournament features several celebrities including Kevin Costner, Wayne Gretzky and wife, Janet Jones Gretzky, and Catherine Bell of the TV show, JAG.
