Ashland Police & Fire Reports

Friday, 11:03 a.m. &

Police interviewed a citizen who had his bike stolen from in front of Ashland Drug, on East Main Street, sometime during the night. The bike, a red and black Kona, Nunu 24 speed Mountain Bike had been locked to a bike rack on the sidewalk. He noticed it was missing when he went to leave in the morning. The cable had been cut and the lock was gone also. The bike was valued at around $350.00.

Friday, 1:35 p.m. &

A juvenile admitted to taking some cold medicine from Bi-Mart without paying for them. With her consent, police searched her purse and found a plastic box containing marijuana. She was cited and released.

Friday, between 2 p.m. And 2:30 p.m. &

In the parking lot of Bank of America on Ashland Street, an unknown person(s) "keyed" the complainant's black 1984 Porsche.

Friday, 7:55 p.m. &

Officers responded to the report of a hit and run that had just occurred. Police located the victim vehicles and suspect vehicle. Witness statements indicated that the suspect vehicle struck two parked cars on Diane Street and then left the scene at a high rate of speed. Officers located the suspect on the 800 block of Clay Street. After taking his statement police arrested him for DUII, Hit and Run.

Friday, 11:30 p.m. &

Police responded to a report of a loud party. Officers identified several minors who admitted to drinking at the residence. The tenant was cited for violation furnishing alcohol to minors. OLCC responded to the address and assisted in issuing minor in possession citations.

Saturday, 3:16 a.m. &

A man was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol). He was found to have a suspended drivers license in Oregon and was in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. He was cited and released at Ashland Police Department.

Saturday, 3:36 p.m. &

Police viewed graffiti on the Helman Street side of the business that is 98 Central Ave. The Plaza Inn Suites. The graffiti was in the form of black marker ink, on a Plaza Inn Suites sign. The graffiti showed the word "BOMB" with the last "B" turned around backwards. Police photographed the damage and cleaned up the vandalism with a solvent and rag.

Saturday, 9:23 p.m. &

Officers were dispatched to a report of an intoxicated disorderly male on Will Dodge Way by the Vinyl Club. After contacting the male, police determined that he was too intoxicated to care for himself and took him into protective custody. While transporting him to the detox facility in Medford, he kicked repeatedly at both the passenger side door and driver side door of the back seat and forcefully punched and hit his head into the plastic partition that separates the back seat from the front seat of the patrol car. He was lodged at Jackson County Jail.

Saturday between 10:34 p.m. and 10:54 p.m. &

A vehicle had the rear window broken on the 600 block of Iowa Street.

Sunday, 2 p.m. &

A vehicle attempted a left turn from Pioneer onto Lithia Way. Vehicle No. 2 was traveling straight on Pioneer. She said she entered the intersection on a green light. Vehicle No. — said his light was green to yellow then he entered and ran into the front driver's side of Vehicle No. 2. Vehicle No. — was cited fail to yield. Both drivers were valid and insured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Sunday, 4:45 p.m. &

A woman reported that an unknown subject attempted to enter her Hyundai Accent by removing the door handle on the passenger side of the vehicle. She did not believe the subject made entry into the vehicle, as she found nothing stolen.
