Baby boy just can't wait, is born in driveway
A 21-year-old woman gave birth to a baby boy in her driveway at her Talent home last night.
Marilu Medina couldn't make it to the hospital in time as her husband and mother helped her in the birthing process.
"I took one hard push and the baby came out quick. It was really intense," she said.
The father caught the baby and handed it to the mother to wrap it in a towel.
They tied the umbilical cord with a shoestring and kept the baby warm until crews from Jackson County Fire District No. 5 and Ashland Fire and Rescue arrived.
Medina was transported by ambulance to Rogue Valley Medical Center, where the baby is good condition. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces.
