North High meeting tonight
Project managers and architects will be on hand at North Medford High School tonight for a neighborhood meeting about a $34 million renovation project at the school.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria, 1900 N. Keeneway Drive.
The school district organized the meeting to give residents of the area an opportunity to hear about the project and ask questions.
The school is in the midst of a face lift that includes new siding, roofing, interior and exterior paint, flooring and air conditioning and heating. Windows will be replaced and skylights will be added.
The district has said the work will continue through the summer.
Next year, four new classrooms and labs will be added to the library. The cafeteria will be remodeled to create a more open and inviting commons area by removing three classrooms that now bisect it. The school will also receive a new main entryway.
Construction is expected to wrap up in fall 2010.
