Crash kills Grants Pass woman and injures man
A crash in Josephine County early this morning left a woman dead and a man in critical condition.
At about 2:35 a.m. emergency crews were called to a single-vehicle crash on Stringer Gap Road near Cumberland Drive.
Terence Michael Daley, 20, of Grants Pass apparently lost control of his 1993 Honda Civic while driving west on Stringer Gap Road, the Josephine County Sheriff's Department reported. The car veered off the roadway and hit a large pine tree.
Daley and his 20-year-old passenger, Aimee Mae Deardorff, also of Grants Pass, were trapped in the crushed vehicle, officials said. Rural Metro and Grants Pass fire departments, with the help of Fairgrounds Towing, extricated them and American Medical Response rushed them to Three Rivers Community Hospital.
At about 4:30 a.m., deputies learned that Deardorff had died at the hospital. Hospital officials said Daley remained in critical condition this morning.
Investigation into the crash continues.
