Wine event Saturday at Hanley

Hanley Farm will celebrate the region's historical agriculture heritage with "Vintage Vines: Wines with their Roots in Southern Oregon" from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The afternoon event, a fundraiser for the Southern Oregon Historical Society, features wines and foods from local farms including six wineries on historic properties. Vintages from Roxy Ann, Edenvale, Pallet, Del Rio, South Stage Cellars, and Quady North will be poured and paired with local, sustainable foods by McCully House. The Hanley Farm House and gardens will be open for tours, and guests will enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides and bluegrass music by Roper's Bunion Band.

Hanley Farm is a 39-acre farm that includes the region's oldest barn, exhibits of farm equipment, heritage gardens and a house built in the 1850s that still includes all of the Hanley family artifacts. The farm is at 1053 Hanley Road between Jacksonville and Central Point.

Tickets are $30 each or $40 on the day of the event. They can be purchased at Hanley Farm, Jacksonville Museum, the History Center in Downtown Medford and at participating wineries.
