Man shot in Central Point; another jailed
One man is in the hospital and another is in jail this morning after a shooting in Central Point late Sunday.
Police say they believe Michael Patrick Combs, 31, used a .357 caliber rifle to shoot Jerald Todd White, 49, in the abdomen outside a home in the 12000 block of Table Rock Road just after 10 p.m.
Combs is being held in Jackson County Jail on two assault charges and several municipal warrants from Shady Cove. Bail was set at more than $2 million.
White remained at Rogue Valley Medical Center, according to a news release this morning from the Jackson County Sheriffâs Office. Police described his condition as stable.
An investigation into the shooting is continuing.
