These trees have all the trimmings
The public gets its first look today at this year's crop of Christmas trees lavishly decorated for the holiday as part of the annual Providence Festival of Trees.
The trees are on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Medford Armory, 1701 S. Pacific Highway, Medford. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for folks over 60 and 12 and younger. Kids 2 and younger get in free.
The event draws thousands of spectators and is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Providence Medford Medical Center, which is putting proceeds from this year's event to its Leila J. Eisenstein Breast Center.
Visitors can browse the trees and holiday displays, shop in a holiday store, have a photo taken with Santa for $5, enjoy entertainment and enter to win raffle items.
The festival continues from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
