Police probe salon break-in
Medford police are investigating a break-in at a hair salon on East Barnett Road.
The break-in at The Fabulous Mr. Thom's, 1601 E. Barnett Road, Medford, was discovered at 9 a.m. Tuesday, when the business reopened after the weekend, Medford police Lt. Bob Hansen said.
Someone had smashed through a glass door to enter the salon, then stolen about $2,200 worth of items, including wall-mounted speakers, hair products, brushes, bottles of wine and a wine-bottle opener, Hansen said.
Police took fingerprints and collected other evidence from the salon and plan to assign a detective to the case.
A string of other business burglaries last month are under investigation. In March, The Guitar Center, Mellelo's Coffee, Goldsmiths Jewelry Store, Rent-A-Center and The Oregon Curiosity Shoppe all were broken into by burglars who smashed out panes of glass to enter, then took miscellaneous items, Hansen said.
Anyone with information about the burglary at Mr. Thoms is asked to call Medford detectives at 541-774-2230.
