Jets will fly over Wednesday
Four F-15C Eagle jet fighters from the 173rd Fighter Wing in Klamath Falls will fly over a Medford memorial ceremony on Wednesday for an Oregon Air National Guard pilot who died in England in July.
Capt. Samuel A. Robertson, 26, died in Cambridge on July 7, according to an obituary available online from the News Tribune in Jefferson City, Mo.
He was a pilot serving with the 493rd Fighter Squadron, which supports NATO operations from an air base at Lakenheath in England. A military press release reported that he collapsed during a Bible study, then died at a hospital.
His wife, Jennifer, is from Medford and the couple had lived in Southern Oregon, officials said.
The memorial ceremony will be at 11 a.m. at Siskiyou Memorial Park. At about 11:15 a.m., the jets based at Klamath Falls' Kingsley Field will fly over about 1,000 feet overhead.
The flyover could be canceled or times changed due to inclement weather or operational contingencies, officials said.
