Nourish yourself at art walk
It's Ashland's First Friday art walk.
Shops and galleries stay open late, from 5 to 8 p.m., to showcase new exhibits. Food, wine, music and demonstrations by artists are offered at many participating locations, which include not only galleries, but shops, wine bars and even the hospital.
Art walk maps are available at participating galleries and Ashland Chamber of Commerce.
If all that strolling around and looking at art makes you hungry, stop by a Soup Night fundraiser to raise money for the Peace Wall, a community art work located in front of the Ashland Public Library.
Gazpacho prepared by Pasta Piatti will be served in a parking lot on Fourth Street behind Gallerie Karon during the First Friday art walk, from 5 to 8 p.m.
A tasty bowl of soup and toppings can be yours for a suggested donation of $5. Children under 12 years can eat for free. However, an anonymous benefactor will match all the money raised, so dig deep and see the dollars double.
