Author night features police novel
A Shakespeare-quoting cop is at the center of local author Tim Smith's novel "The Sticking Place."
And the book is the center of a reading and book-signing event at 7 p.m. at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd.
Smith served as a police officer for 27 years with the City of San Diego and San Diego Unified School District Police Department. He has written the story of rookie cop Luke Jones, a recently graduated, literature major with a penchant for quoting the bard, and plans a series following Jones' entire career.
Barry Kraft, Oregon Shakespeare Festival favorite, will read from this first book in that deep, distinctive voice of his. For more details, call 541-774-6996.
