U.S. Fish and Wildlife to host free wildlife crimes presentation
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Forensic Lab will give a free presentation from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the large community meeting room of the Medford library, 205 S. Central Ave.
The laboratory, located in Ashland, is the only lab in the world dedicated to solving crimes against wildlife. Using a wide range of scientific procedures and instruments, evidence is examined, identified and compared in an attempt to link suspects, victims and crime scenes with physical evidence.
The program will feature specimens from the lab, stories about actual cases, the scientists who work at the lab and how they solve crimes.
Light refreshments will be served.
