Silent auction to benefit family of David Hart
Members and supporters of the Medford Cruise will remember the organization's former president, David Hart, who died of a heart attack Oct. 6 at the age of 34. Hart died one day before the group presented four local youth programs with checks totaling $25,000.
A celebration of Hart's life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct.15, at the Venue Community Civic Center (formerly the Slick Kart Track), 1029 Narregan St., Medford. There will be a silent auction to benefit Hart's family. Contributions to the "Medford Cruise — Dave Hart Family Fund" can be made at any Umpqua Bank location.
Hart, of Eagle Point, is survived by his wife, Andrea; five children; and his mother, Linda Flores.
Hart has helped the Medford Cruise car show raise more than $300,000, volunteering hundreds of hours each year to recruit sponsors, organize volunteers and take on other tasks for the annual community event. Proceeds from the Medford Cruise have gone to such programs as Kids Unlimited, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley, St. Vincent DePaul Dental Program and Wings Program, and the Medford Parks Association.
