Vote for your favorite Spook-tacular video

The videos are in and now it's time to sort the tricks from the treats in the Mail Tribune/Daily Tidings Spook-tacular Halloween video contest.

The contest got 17 entries that run the gamut from funny to scary and even offer some quirky mixes of both.

Now readers have a chance to vote for their favorites. Head to www.mailtribune.com/spooktacular and click the "Vote" tab. Readers can vote daily through 5 p.m. Saturday.

While readers vote for their favorites, a panel of judges including actor Bruce Campbell, local filmmaker Alex Williams and Mail Tribune and Daily Tidings videographers Mandy Valencia and Ryan Pfeil will pick winners, too.

Prizes include "The Evil Dead" special edition DVD signed by star Bruce Campbell for the top video; a signed copy of "If Chins Could Kill" by Bruce Campbell as second prize and a $20 gift card to Cinemark for the third prize. People's Choice winner gets a $15 gift card to Mellelo Coffee.

All winners will be announced online on Halloween and in the papers Nov. 1.

"We got some great entries for this contest," Pfeil said. "Support the creative minds behind them and go check them out."
