Barbara Robertson

Barbara Robertson, 96, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the home of her daughter, Diana. She was born in Knutsford, England, on October 17, 1915. Barbara met the love of her life, Ian, while in school and they married in 1939.

In 1947, Ian, Barbara and their two daughters sailed to New York City. They lived in Rye, N.Y., for 12 years before moving to Palo Alto, Calif. After about 15 years in California, they returned to the New York area for their final working years. They retired to Ashland, Ore., in 1979.

Barbara had the luxury of being a stay at home wife. She was an avid gardener and walked, usually with her dog, most of the trails of Ashland. She could be seen daily walking around her Green Meadows neighborhood. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland for 32 years, serving as a deacon, working at the food shelter and delivering Meals on Wheels for many years.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Ian W. Robertson. She is survived by daughters, Diana (Robert) Williams, of Cupertino, Calif., and Pamela (Peter) Talbott, of Lakeview, Ore.; grandchildren, Jodi and Shane Breshears, of Wilsonville, Ore., and Heidi and Tristan Proett, of North Bend, Ore., Nicole and Josh Stokes, of Alviso, Calif., and

Graham and Jamie Williams, of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and eight great-grandchildren. There are numerous nieces and

nephews in England.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2012, 2:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland Memorial Fund,

Southern Oregon Humane Society, or the charity of one's choice.
