KOGAP gets $2 million Medford park blocks contract
The Medford Urban Renewal Agency today approved an almost $2 million contract with KOGAP Enterprises Inc. to start building two new downtown parks.
The parks — each equivalent to a city block — will be built as part of The Commons, a downtown development that features Lithia Motors headquarters.
KOGAP will rip up existing roads on North Bartlett Street between Fourth and Sixth streets and Fifth Street between Bartlett and North Riverside.
Construction will include demolition of existing facilities, construction of stormwater drains, sidewalks and roads, as well as landscaping, water features, concrete work, historic preservation, concrete pavers, signage, street lights and traffic signals.
Once KOGAP is finished with the infrastructure, separate contractors will build the actual parks.
The project will be paid out of $14.1 million MURA has set aside for development of The Commons.
