Still no agreement in latest Eagle Point negotiations
After another bargaining session fell flat Thursday night, Eagle Point schools will reopen on Monday with substitute teachers helming the classrooms.
Substitute teachers will also judge Senior Spring Board presentations.
A news release from the school district said bargaining will resume Tuesday, May 15, with the continued help of a state mediator. Negotiating teams are still at odds over instructional time for high school and middle school and prorated insurance for part-time employees. A tentative agreement has been reached on subcontracting for positions like bus drivers.
Bus schedules will be posted on the district's website, www.eaglepoint.k12.or.us.
Both the district and the Eagle Point Education Association have been bargaining for the last 14 months. As a result of those stalled negotiations, a strike of over 300 employees began at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
