Conference covers alternative fuel vehicles

Rogue Valley Clean Cities Coalition will host an alternative fuel fleet conference and vehicle show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the Jackson County Public Works Auditorium, 7520 Table Rock Road, White City. The event is free.

The conference will feature presentations about local compressed natural gas fleet vehicles and the region's new fast-fueling station, propane pickups, and electric vehicles. The electric vehicle session will include information about battery technology, the West Coast Electric Highway and the experiences of people who have driven a Nissan Leaf for one year.

Jackson County and John's Auto Care will display propane F-150s. There will be a Brammo electric motorcycle and a Mitsubishi iMiEV, Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt electric sedans.

The event is sponsored by Avista, RVTD and Jackson County Roads, and a free lunch will be provided. Find an agenda and flier online at http://www.roguevalleycleancities.org/events.html. RSVP to melissa@roguevalleycleancities or call 541-779-0569.
