Darkwing Manor to host a frighteningly good time
A Rogue Valley haunted favorite will be back open for business starting Friday, Oct. 26, at 4192 Coleman Creek Road, Phoenix.
Darkwing Manor and Morguetorium Museum, created and operated by Tina and Tim Reuwsaat with the help of dozens of volunteers, will also be open Saturday, Oct. 27, and Wednesday, Oct. 31. Hours are 6 to 9:30 p.m. all three nights.
Attendees can tour the Victorian home and manor grounds, and will come across a variety of haunted attractions, including vampires, fortune tellers, fire-breathers and otherworldly monsters. Nearly 100 volunteers have been working for six weeks to build and rehearse for the haunt, including make-up, acting and fire-breathing workshops.
The event raised more than $9,000 for Community Works domestic violence programs and the Dunn House women's shelter in 2011.
Cost is $8 per person, with this year's proceeds going to the Children's Advocacy Center of Jackson County.
