Police track possible sightings of missing man
Medford police are following up on several potential sightings of an elderly Medford man who has been missing since last Wednesday.
The possible sightings of Truman Tollefson, 87, have included Big R, Dead Indian Memorial Road and the West Main Street Albertsons. All were reported last week.
"All stuff we're looking into," said Lt. Mike Budreau.
On Wednesday, Dec. 5, Tollefson had told family members he was going to the Wells Fargo Bank, 1320 E. McAndrews Road, before heading to Safeway, errands family members told police he made a couple times a week. Tollefson drove away in his 1981 Buick Century sedan at about 5 p.m. A surveillance camera recorded him at Wells Fargo at 5:13 p.m. He hasn't been seen since then.
Jackson County Search & Rescue will assist in combing the sighting area up on Dead Indian Memorial Road. Teams are planning the search today.
Police urge Jackson County residents to continue their lookout for the vehicle.
"I still think there's a likelihood the vehicle's still out there and being seen," Budreau said. "We're relying a lot on the public's help."
Tollefson is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs about 135 pounds and is balding. He was last seen wearing a tan coat, black jeans, white tennis shoes and glasses. His car's license plate is Oregon NAL564.
Anyone with information or another sighting should call Medford police at 541-774-2200.
